A Cross-Cultural Journey Through Music

The Canadian Asian Ensemble (CAE) is the multicultural music ensemble of the Canadian Asian Music Society (CAMS). Bringing together master musicians from diverse Asian and Canadian traditions, CAE creates original performances that celebrate cultural diversity, honour nature, and build bridges between cultures through music.

At the heart of CAE’s work is a strong commitment to exploring the connection between nature, art, and music. Each performance is designed to inspire reflection and wonder, drawing from the rich heritage of traditional music and the beauty of the natural world. A special focus of CAE is to highlight the impact that human actions have on nature and the environment. Through our compositions, we aim to raise awareness about these challenges and share messages of peace, hope, and friendship.

One of CAE’s main goals is to encourage connection among Asian cultures within Canada while building strong collaborations with Indigenous communities. We strive to bring together the rich art and ancient cultural heritage of Asia with the traditions and histories of Canada, creating unique and original works that reflect both worlds.

We believe music is a universal language that can bring people together, build respect, and help us understand each other better. By bringing together diverse musical voices, CAE invites audiences on a journey that celebrates cultural diversity, honours nature, and shows what music can mean in today’s world.
